This demonstration version of LunarPhase Pro shows off all the features in V2.20 of of the software. The file is an 8.5Mb download...
More than a Moon Atlas, LunarPhase Pro is a complete Moon observation planning tool which includes libration predictions (and movies), eclipse predictions, times of similar illumination at features, times of first crescent visibility, whether or not the Moon will interfere with meteor showers, visibility and daily view diagrams, general moon phase and sun/moon data and many other features. It also contains a searchable database of over 9,200 features (near and far side), emulates the view of the Moon as seen through user-specified telescopes and eyepieces, allows identification of lunar features (including the Lunar 100) by simple mouse-click, from dropdown lists or from on-map labels. Rukl charts and feature lists are also included. Maps can be zoomed, panned over and printed out. The software comes with over 800 observation notes for different features and users can record their own observations as well. Many other functions are also included in the software.
Some notes on the demonstration version:
- Some screens have been partially disabled but some settings on those screens can be changed so users can get an idea of how the screens work.
- Some functions have been disabled (e.g. printing).
- The date in the demo is fixed at April 20, 2005 and cannot be changed.
- Screens that display ephemeris type information will only show data between January and June 2005.
- The resolution of the maps on the atlas (Lunar Explorer) screen are low-res only and cannot be changed.
- Only a representative sample of features from the database are included, but these will let users try out the feature labelling and feature identification functions.
- A selection of eyepiece and telescope combinations are provided to try out the emulation of the view of the Moon through those combinations (new combinations cannot be addded).
- Aside from that, users can play around with the software to see what it's capable of doing.
