The Yale Observatory iMAge Manipulation Application (yomama) is the a java tool for fits image manipulation and viewing. It was developed under a grant entitled "Development of a Web-Based Image Analysis Package for Astronomical Data".
yomama does not require any sort of advanced scripting knowledge for its use. Written completely in Java, is platform independent and as such can be run by beginnesr or experts alike, no matter what kind of computer they own.
Note: the yomama application requires the user to have a Java Runtime Envrionment (JRE) installed (free)
