This application computes ephemerides for comets, asteroids and other solar system objects (planets, Sun, Moon).
You can use it when you want:
- to list all observable solar system objects you can add to your observing plan,
- to identify the moving object at your CCD image.
The output is sent to a plain text file.
Includes a feature to automatically download the latest elements from the Lowell Observatory (astorb.dat, for asteroids) and the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams (Soft12Cmt.txt for comets).
This application uses astronomical library libastro - developed by Elwood C. Downey as a part of XEphem.
It can be used together with GSImageTools, a plug-in which - among others - integrates with AstroArt and Cartes du Ciel.
