Three PowerMac versions of this Planetarium application are available: Observer Basic (trialware version), targeted at novice amateur astronomers and people with a casual interest in the sky, the new Observer Intermediate, for the progressing amateur astronomer, and Observer Advanced, flagship application with twenty million stars, 125,000 deep sky objects, and 600 deep sky images. Observer Advanced claims to have the largest deep-sky catalogue available (with detailed info on each object) for the Macintosh and supports telescope automation with the Scopelink II product and other third-party interfaces and telescope.
