Astro IIDC is an image acquisition package for Astronomy, Microscopy and High Speed Scientific imaging. "Astro IIDC" works with a wide variety of low and high end, color or monochrome, 8 or 16 bit FireWire 400 or FireWire 800 cameras. It has a simple intuitive interface, can record movies, grab frames, grab averaged frames, grab sums of frames, supports external trigger for frame delivery, has extensive Altivec optimization for real time processing for flat field, dark frame, image alignment and stacking, supports movie recording as fast as 240 frames per second to disk or as long as 1 hour per frame, supports external motor controls via ActiveWire USB and USB POSIX serial port devices for guiding, and support remote hardware trigger for frame acquisition.
