Alcyone Ephemeris | | Description: | Alcyone Ephemeris is an accurate and fast astronomical ephemeris calculator covering the period 3000 BC to AD 3000. It calculates heliocentric, geocentric, and topocentric positions of the Sun (Earth), Moon, planets, minor planets, comets and fixed stars in ecliptical, equatorial, and horizontal coordinates (including angular differences between two bodies), with optional corrections for parallax and refraction; rectangular coordinates, velocity, apparent diameter, magnitude, phase, lunar libration, orbital elements, differences for all of these, and more. In addition Alcyone Ephemeris offers a wealth of functionality: star chart generation, 3D-visualization of heliocentric and planetocentric orbits, plotting ephemeris data (as a function of time or in a parametric plot), searching for specific values, data export (HTML, Excel, Text, CSV, XML), printing, and (PDF-/HTML-/RTF-) report generation. Access to the complete Bright Star Catalogue, calendar conversion, and an astronomical event calculator are available.
The ephemeris calculation is based upon Steve Moshier's analytical ephemeris using trigonometric expansions for the earth and planets and the lunar ephemeris ELP2000-85 of Chapront-Touzé and Chapront for the moon, both adjusted to Jet Propulsion Laboratory's DE404. There are further adjustments in Alcyone Ephemeris, some optional, to JPL's more recent DE406, the most accurate long-term ephemeris. Alcyone Ephemeris is fast. With an Athlon XP 2000+ processor, 100 calculations of geocentric longitude, latitude, and distance for the sun, moon, and all planets take about 2 seconds.
A comprehensive documentation includes tabular and graphic comparisons of calculations with HORIZONS Ephemeris generator . Alcyone Ephemeris is shareware and runs under Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista.

Ephemeris | | Description: | Solar system ephemeris program. The features include: a) Positions for the Sun, Moon, planets, comets and minor planets; b) Easy input of orbital elements; c) Production of tables of up to 2000 positions for any time interval and twilight setting, ideal for comets.
The algorithms are based on Jean Meeus' work published in Astronomical Formulae and thus produce excellent positional accuracy, typically to 1 arc second. Recently added is the ability to export the planets positions and a comet or minor planet to 'planets.dat' which can then be used by Mel Bartels scope.exe program which computer controls a telescope. | | | Filesize: | 299.00 Kb | | Added on: | 23-Mar-2004 | | Downloads: | 905 | | Category: | Windows / Ephemerides - General Purpose | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
Esquire Nautical Almanac | | Description: | Almanac based on the VSOP 87 theory. For stars the effects of aberration, precession and nutation are applied. Epoch 2000 is used. The periodic terms used are not limited to those given in Meeus book but to around 25000, for all the objects, obtained from various sources . Pluto is not added in this version as it is not required for navigation but will be added in the next version along with eclipses, different type of sailings and various methods of position fixing.
The new version of Esquire has the solar and lunar Eclipse dates . The other new feature of this version is GPS interface . Connect the GPS to the computer using the serial port connector. | | | Filesize: | 9.54 MB | | Added on: | 19-Aug-2005 | | Downloads: | 825 | | Rating: | 4.0 (5 Votes) | | Category: | Windows / Ephemerides - General Purpose | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details | Comments (2)
Almanac | | Description: | It allows the creation of a complete astronomical almanac for a selected location. Calculates the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets and asteroids. It determines the instants of the more important celestial phenomena and particularly of the eclipses of the Sun and Moon for any given locations. Automatically draws charts of the apparent paths of asteroids, comets and planets, and of the solar eclipses paths over the Earth.
Available in two versions: Light (the calculations for the positions of the celestial bodies are performed to relatively low precision (0" .1 for the planets, the Sun and the Moon for the actual date. The database of the asteroids contains 1000 objects only) and Complete (calculations for the positions of the greatest bodies of the solar system performed to the maximum precision. The database of the asteroids contains over 100.000 objects, while that of the stars reaches mag. 10 - 250.000 stars can be displayed).
To install the Complete version, you must first install the "light" one, then upgrade it with extra files. | | | Version: | 3 | | Filesize: | 2.86 MB | | Added on: | 03-Dec-2003 | | Downloads: | 760 | | Category: | Windows / Ephemerides - General Purpose | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
Astronomic Clock | | Description: | ASTRONOM provides a host of data on the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets seen from anywhere on Earth. Information, plotted on an altazimuth chart and accompanying tables, includes local sunrise and sunset times, solar disk size, Earth-Sun distance, Moon phases, equatorial coordinates, a planetary ephemeris, and an eclipse locator. The positions of the planets may be changed in steps of a second, minute, hour, day, week, and month, or follow the system clock.
Attractive graphics. Well integrated functions.

Ephemeris Calculator | | Description: | This application computes ephemerides for comets, asteroids and other solar system objects (planets, Sun, Moon).
You can use it when you want:
- to list all observable solar system objects you can add to your observing plan,
- to identify the moving object at your CCD image.
The output is sent to a plain text file.
Includes a feature to automatically download the latest elements from the Lowell Observatory (astorb.dat, for asteroids) and the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams (Soft12Cmt.txt for comets).
This application uses astronomical library libastro - developed by Elwood C. Downey as a part of XEphem.
It can be used together with GSImageTools, a plug-in which - among others - integrates with AstroArt and Cartes du Ciel. | | | Version: | 1.1.3 | | Filesize: | 666.27 Kb | | Added on: | 02-Oct-2003 | | Downloads: | 725 | | Category: | Windows / Ephemerides - General Purpose | | Homepage | Rate resource | Details
