 Shuttle | | Description: | This game simulates the space shuttle. Even though it is not new, it is very realistic and gives you a taste of what it's really like to pilot the shuttle.
This isn't a mere plane simulator; you can't just push a button and take off! All the procedures that you must follow are the same as the ones in the real shuttle! It takes twelve game hours to launch (fortunately, there is time compression, and you can get through this stage very quickly!)
The cockpit graphics are great and very realistic! There are more than 2,050 buttons to push, and more than 50 screens in the cockpit! You can view the control panel in 5 different ways. The missions are based on missions flown in real life by the various space shuttles. The last mission of the game is the repair of the Hubble space telescope in 1994. In the game you also must test the MMU or RMS, among many other things.

| Xplanet | | Description: | Xplanet was inspired by Xearth. It renders images on the desktop background.
All of the major planets and most satellites can be drawn, similar to a Solar System Simulator. A number of different map projections are also supported, including azimuthal, Mercator, Mollweide, orthographic and rectangular.
A bunch of useful scripts are separately available: to update your maps with the latest cloud images, satellite orbits, weather information, and recent volcanoes and earthquakes, and create images with different projections and viewpoints; to create marker files for earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, and satellites, as well as the markerfiles themselves and a cloud map mirror.

This is the Windows version*. Source for Linux, Darwin and Mac OSX compilation and a Port for FreeBSD are also available.

The stand alone version creates realistic images of deep space. First, create your star field and then add nebula, stars, vortex, lens flares, planets, and galaxies...
The Universe Image Creator (UIC) plug-ins allows you to create realistic images of deep space right in your favorite image editing program. Any program which supports the Adobe Photoshop 4.0 Filter Plug-in specification will work. The effects are Stars, Textured Stars, Nebula, Vortex, Lens Flare, Galaxy, Distant Star, and Interstellar Gas. All effects are rendered in 3D using OpenGL and can be oriented in any position. This combined with the power of your image editing program yields fantastic deep space scenes.
In the shareware mode, only three effects can be rendered: stars, textured stars, and the nebula. The remaining effects can be viewed but are rendered with a "Diard Software" watermark.
