There are many display modes: several commands of stretching, but the most interesting one is a new transfer function to do the image contrast, that can be defined by the user by several parameters. The palette command is also fully editable and definable by the user. It is also possible to display the spectral analysis, and to create animations.

The menu for image processing comprises a wide range of convolution filters; apart of the standard high-pass and low-pass, unfocussed mask, gaussian and averages, the user can also try the innovative ones as non-linear and adapters. It is also possible, through a sub-menu user filter, to create own personal filters. One of the most important characteristics of Vision Pro is the possibility of several algorithms of deconvolution, very useful to recover part of the resolution lost in the image, due to many reasons as optical aberration, defocusing, tracking error etc...

The software uses the FFT application and other particular filters as the high-emphasis, to evidence the weak areas without to saturate the stronger ones; also homorphic is very useful to devignetting images where it was not possible to apply the flat-field.

For expertise users, it is available the IPBL language, very similar to Basic, designed to satisfy any particular needings as the elaboration of a sequences of images."

From the Command window you can execute numerous commands in on-line mode. These commands are a subset of the commands available in the DOS-32 bits software QMiPS32. The on-line mode of Iris is extremely practical, notably to make repetitive operations.

Finally, Iris possesses functions helping the Audine CCD camera.

The registration in RegiStax V3 has been optimized to run a lot faster and give the user more options to select images. The 3 new quality estimation methods allow better initial quality estimates.

The main power of RegiStax is located in the wavelet tab. This is where all the registered and stacked image information can be used by the user to enhance the image.

Stellar Magic provides a host of convolution filters as well as FFT operations and sophisticated deconvolution procedures for manipulating images. It also performs image registration and mosaic creation in addition to standard operations such as dark frame subtraction and flat-fielding.
